This week we have been writing personal narratives and time lines. Today we did print making of our faces to go along with our time lines. It is always a messy project, but pretty cool. First we drew our faces on foam plates. Then we used a brayer to put ink on our foam plates. Last we stamped the foam plate on a piece of paper. They looked fabulous!

Those Darn Leprechauns
Last night those darn Leprechauns snuck in through an open window and messed with our classroom. What a mess.
They left some juice for us. Luckily, Liam sent our class an email to explain what the juice was. He said that if we drink it really slow it might turn our feet green while we sleep. He did say that it doesn't work on everyone and some feet are dark green and other are light. Can't wait to see what happens to our feet.

Up, Up, and Away!
Today we started making kites to decorate our classroom. Sorry there are not more pictures, my camera died in the middle of the project. The kids had lots of fun making the kites and playing with the primary colors. The watercolors mixed on the coffee filter paper to make new colors. It was fun to see how different and unique each kite was!

Oobleck and Goober Balls
On Friday we had lots of fun playing with Oobleck and Goober Balls. We learned about Oobleck in the Dr. Seuss book Bartholomew and the Oobleck. After we finished the story we were able to play with the Oobleck. Our class had a hard time deciding if it was a liquid or a solid. We then tried an experiment with Goober Balls. They started out as tiny little balls that we then soaked in water. After a few hours they were the size of marbles. Why is that?!?!

Headphones
Today we talked about headphones in our computer labs. We go to the computer lab everyday and use headphones. If you would like your child to use their own headphones they can bring a pair to school that we will keep in the classroom. They can also buy them from the office for $4. I have purchased them at Dollar Tree and last okay. It would be a great idea to use their own headphones to stop the spread of germs.
Verbs
I wanted to say thanks to our entire class! Last week we did a review of verbs and it didn't go so well. We spent the rest of the week reviewing verbs like the verb dive. At the end of the week we did a verb quiz and the class did fabulous on it. Thanks for working hard on verbs. You are the best second graders!!!
